This July, two Sheldon Alumni pulled on the green and gold at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and the whole Sheldon community was watching every step and every stroke!

Georgia Harris, 2021 Alumna, sprinted into the world stage!

Many of you will remember Georgia Harris from her time at Sheldon College. Since then she's become one of Australia's most exciting young sprinters, crowned Australia's fastest woman at the 2026 National Championships, and undefeated at the 2025 World University Games, where her 100m win made her only the second Australian woman to take that title in 70 years.

In Glasgow, Georgia qualified through the heats of the individual 100m and reached the semi-finals. She also ran in the heats of the 4x100m relay, helping the Australian team through to the final, where Ebony Lane, Chloe Mannix-Power, Monique Hanlon and Torrie Lewis finished a heartbreaking fourth, just 0.02 seconds outside bronze.

Georgia, the whole Sheldon community is so proud of you! A Commonwealth Games semi-finalist and a heat-round hero for that relay squad!

Jamie Jack, 2020 Alumnus, made a splash in Glasgow!

Fellow Sheldon alumnus Jamie Jack, a sprint swimmer, earned his first Commonwealth Games selection after finishing second to world record-holder Cameron McEvoy at Australia's swimming trials. Making the Games even more special, Jamie competed alongside his sister, Australian swimming star Shayna Jack, the first sister-brother duo to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Games since Emma and David McKeon in 2018.

Excitingly Jamie came home with two medals, a Gold and a Bronze! He swam a leg in the heats of the men's 4x100m freestyle relay, helping Australia qualify fastest for the final — where Flynn Southam, Kai Taylor, Harrison Turner and Kyle Chalmers went on to win gold in a Games record 3:09.49, with Jamie sharing in that gold as part of the qualifying team. He then added an individual bronze in the 50m freestyle, touching in 21.47 behind McEvoy's gold (20.97) and Southam's silver (21.44).
